Welcome to our latest edition of ALONGSIDE, our regular newsletter with articles and updates from around the Solis Marine Group.
We begin this edition by announcing the appointment of Richard Hadcroft to the newly created position of Head of Crane Engineering Services for the Solis Marine Group. Richard is heading up a new area of services for Solis Marine providing clients with crane damage investigations, expert opinion on causation, repair costs analysis and crane engineering consultancy.
In the next item we focus on an example of Solis Marine’s expert witness capabilities by summarising our work on the TERAS LYZA case. CEO Ros Blazejczyk and Solis Marine co-founder John Simpson gave written and oral evidence to the Singapore High Court, helping to secure a judgement in our client’s favour.
Next, we look at our Engineering Divisions’ project, in collaboration with industry partners, delivering the design of next generation installation vessels for the offshore wind industry. This is followed by the announcement of another addition to our growing network of Alliance Partners, with Assurance Reliability Compliance (“ARC”) now joining the group. ARC provide risk assurance compliance and technical expertise to the energy and maritime sectors.
Clean shipping is a major part of our Engineering Divisions focus and in the next article we look at our work on “Flexicapture”, a new emissions management system. This is then followed by a piece from our Head of Naval Architecture Services, Duncan Campbell, on the role of the Solis Marine Naval Architects when we are instructed to provide our casualty management services.
Our Singapore team has been growing steadily in recent years and to support further growth we have now moved to a new office, as we announce in this next item.
Finally we reflect on the annual seminar of the Nautical Institutes North West Branch, with a presentation given by our own Jamie Simpson and where Paul Walton had organisational responsibilities.
We hope you enjoy reading the ALONGSIDE newsletter.
It just remains for me, on behalf of us all at Solis Marine, to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year. We look forward to working with you all again in 2026.
