  • Pre-Purchase & Condition Surveys: Independent assessment of vessel condition forprospective buyers, including hull and machinery surveys, systems evaluation andcomprehensive reporting with fully costed analysis of remedial works.
  • Casualty Investigation & Claims Management: Rapid response damage surveys for H&Munderwriters and P&I Clubs. Investigation of groundings, collisions, machinery failures, fire and flooding incidents with expert causation analysis and repair cost assessment. Casualty management for salvage and wreck removal.
  • New Build & Refit Support: Technical specification review, shipyard due diligence, progresssurveys, class compliance verification, commissioning oversight and sea trial supervision.

Advanced Engineering Support

Solis Marine's engineering division in Falmouth and Singapore provides specialist naval architecture and structural engineering support for complex superyacht projects:

  • Stability & Hydrodynamics: Intact and damage stability calculations, seakeeping analysis, andcomputational fluid dynamics for performance optimisation.

Key Personnel

Andrew McManus - Chief Engineer Unlimited with 17 years seagoing experience on container vessels rising from Fourth Engineer to Chief Engineer. Fifteen years in ship management as Technical Superintendent and Fleet Manager for major shipping companies including Maersk Line and Songa Shipmanagement, managing fleets of up to 48 vessels. Two years as Project Manager for luxury yachts 52-147m conducting surveys, expert reports and managing technical projects.

Jamie Simpson - Master Mariner with seagoing experience including cruise vessels and Ro-Pax. Over ten years command experience of passenger vessels, including the privately owned ST. HELENA. Holder of pilot exemptions for major European ports and experience of berthing in confined ports and marinas with limited bathymetric data in challenging global locations. Member of the Lloyd's Panel Special Casualty Representatives.
